Meet Grace

My name is Grace Covington, and I am a student working towards a degree in interior design. I have been in the design program since the fall of 2023 and will graduate with my associate's degree in interior design in 2026. I am always looking to be challenged, learn as much design information as possible, and learn about AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Design 2020. About Me

Travel

I love to travel and experience different cultures and art around the world. The architecture in Europe has been my favorite! I've visited Rome, Florence, Venice, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Belize, and Costa Rica. Next on my bucket list are Japan and Spain!

Volleyball

During my first semester in college, I got the opportunity to play college volleyball. Although I couldn't continue playing collegiately, I do coach at my local travel volleyball club and middle school volleyball at Cape Fear Academy.

My Dream

Growing up, I thought I would be a vet or interior designer. At 13, I found the NC State dorm room layout and designed my whole dorm room for the vet school. I also fully believed I would create a tiny home and live on a farm with horses.

Oh and did I mention....

I'm getting married!!!

This past June I got engaged to my wonderful boyfriend of 4 years!

Currently pursuing a degree in interior design in order to work in a design or architecture firm.

Interior Design Program at Wake Tech Community College

Attended Wake Tech For a semester where I entered the Interior Design Program, while being a student athlete playing volleyball.

Freelance Projects

I have started working on projects outside of school for clients, friends, and family. I want to continue growing my portfolio and my design knowledge.

Summer 2024

Internship

I had a summer internship with a local company, Custom Home Furniture. I gained experience in both the business and sales sides of their company. I learned about wholesale prices and freights and shadowed their lead designer. I also learned a lot about myself and what I want to pursue as a career.

Early College

Attended Cape Fear Community College in the Associate's in Science Pathway while in high school.

I have been on the Dean's List for all my college semesters, maintaining a GPA over 3.5 This reflects my commitment to academic excellence and my ability to balance coursework and responsibilities. Each semester has fostered growth, enhancing my study habits and time management skills. I take pride in my achievements and look forward to applying this dedication in the future.
